Rebecca is currently studying for an MSc in Global Mental Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and King's College London. She is interested in climate change and mental health, as well as mental health responses in crisis situations.
Alongside university she volunteers as a social support outreach officer for a food bank running in London, where she closely works with the more vulnerable visitors to direct them to local mental health services and provide a friendly face to chat with. Previously Rebecca volunteered for an NGO in Sri Lanka, providing outreach psychosocial support to marginalized communities and those with acute mental health disorders.
Currently reviewing mental health policies for their adaptation to the climate crisis, Rebecca is keen to learn about public health policy and work to understand and remove barriers to accessing mental health care. She is particularly focused on women's and LGBTQIA+ groups' mental health, and mental health in refugee and crisis affected populations.
